This survey course is primarily devoted to cultural anthropology, emphasizing the study of culture and social institutions through a comparative examination of non-literate peoples, early civilizations and modern societies. Less emphasized is the study of human evolution and the effects of cultural and biological factors in that evolution. A grade of C- is the passing grade for prerequisites in this category unless otherwise noted. Offered: Fall, Spring.
