Metrology II provides the student an in-depth review of mechanical metrology as applied in metal manufacturing.
Metrology II introduces the student to CMM programming, reviews manual measuring devices, and optical measurement devices. Topics include direct and indirect measurements, contact and non-contact gaging, angular measurement, and hardness testing. The fundamentals of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and blueprint reading as related to inspection are emphasized
The course provides the student a comprehensive set of hands-on-exercises with increasing complexity to determine the dimensional characteristics of a variety of manufactured parts.
