Memoir is an increasingly popular form of writing that draws on personal history and memory as inspiration for writing about life experience. The primary focus of this class will be writing several memoir essays over the course of the semester. Students will share, discuss, revise, and explore opportunities for publishing their memoir essays. Students will also read a range of published memoir and study one author of their choosing in depth for the purpose of examining the qualities and characteristics of memoir. This course satisfies the Fine Arts requirement. Offered: Spring.
