A hands-on studio based introduction to digital photography as a fine art and a means of communication. Topics include camera handling and creative controls, image editing and manipulation using Adobe Photoshop, and photographic history and theory. Through lectures, readings, slide presentations, videos and assignments, students will be introduced to the basic vocabulary, concepts, tools and expressive possibilities of digital photography. It is recommended that students have their own camera. (See also DGA* 128.) This course satisfies the Fine Arts requirement.
