Asnuntuck Community College is offering a 54-week cosmetology (hairdressing) program that begins August 21.

The program, which takes just over a year to complete, offers small class sizes offering students personal attention from instructors.

Students receive training in both theory and practical experience which prepares them to take the Connecticut State Board Examination.

To obtain a license in Connecticut, students must successfully complete 1,500 hours in hairdressing and cosmetology education, as well as pass the State of Connecticut exam. Students can apply for Massachusetts Cosmetology licensure after earning licensure in Connecticut.
