WalletHub, a Washington, D.C. based personal finance website, has released its 2020 Best & Worst Community College list. Connecticut’s Community College System has been ranked fifth in the country and Asnuntuck Community College has placed fourth for community colleges in the State of Connecticut.

WalletHub in its announcement reported that community colleges are an affordable and attractive option for many who are struggling financially due to impacts from COVID-19.

“We are pleased to have Asnuntuck recognized by WalletHub as an attractive and affordable option for students. Students are at the center of all of our decisions, as our response to the pandemic has demonstrated,” said Connecticut Community College’s North-West Regional President Dr. James Lombella.  He continued, “We believe this commitment to the student experience is why our students enjoy their time at Asnuntuck and why ACC has excellent graduation rates.”

To determine where students can receive the best education at the cheapest rates, WalletHub compared more than 650 community colleges across 18 key indicators of cost and quality. The data set ranges from the cost of in-state tuition and fees to student-faculty ratio to graduation rate.

“Asnuntuck Community College is proud to be ranked fourth for the Connecticut community colleges.  We pride ourselves on our welcoming environment with small class sizes.  Our graduation rates are #1 in Massachusetts and Connecticut because of our quality, accessible, and affordable education,” said Asnuntuck’s Interim Chief Executive Officer Dr. Michelle Coach.
