Asnuntuck Community College will be holding a Healthcare Career Open House on Wednesday, Aug. 23rd from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Freshwater Commons. The evening will include information regarding the 15 Healthcare Career Certificate Programs available at the college as well as light refreshments, and a $100 discount on registration for these programs. Representatives from Asnuntuck’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center will also be on hand and information will be available regarding ACC’s credit programs, including accounting, business administration, criminal justice, communications, early childhood education, human services, liberal arts, Registered Medical Assisting, and general studies. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the healthcare industry is projected to create 3.2 million new jobs by 2018. Those interested in exploring a career in healthcare are encouraged to attend to learn more about the programs, which include EMT, Dental Assistant Program, Certified Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Billing and Coding, Certified Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy/EKG Technician, Veterinary Technician, Massage Therapy, Certified Sterilization Technician and Dental Assistant. Three newer programs offered at Asnuntuck, include Nail Technician, Certified Personal Trainer and Esthetician.
