Asnuntuck Community College will host the Freshwater Literary Festival on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in the college’s new Tower Lobby. The Festival will include readings, recognition of the winners of the 2018 Freshwater Student Writing Contest, and the release of the new edition of Asnuntuck’s Freshwater Literary Journal.
The event will celebrate local authors, including Julia Alexander (poetry), Katharine Carle (poetry), Mark Dressler (fiction), Jessica Handly (fiction), Laura Hayden (memoir), Nzima Hutchings (poetry), Richard Smith (poetry) and Deanna Theodore (fiction).
Winners of the 2018 Freshwater Student Writing Contest are 1st place recipient Raygan Zononi; 2nd place recipient Sarah Velcofsky; 3rd place recipient R.J. (Bob) Caron. Honorable mention recognition goes to Abigail Burson, William Besner and Dorian Xanyn. All of the recipients will be honored during the festival.
