Virtual Instructional Methods
A great number of our courses have been converted to virtual instructional methods including:
- ONLN – Fully Online – A fully online class with flexible scheduling and an asynchronous learning environment where work can be done at any time 24/7 as long as students meet required due dates. Blackboard and/or a publisher platform are used for the delivery and organization of course materials. Students in an ONLN course need access to a reliable computer with internet connection.
- LRON – Live/Remote & Online Component – Fully online classes with specific virtual meeting days & times (i.e., synchronized) as well as asynchronous completion of learning activities and coursework using Blackboard and/or a publisher platform. Asynchronous learning means that course work can be completed at any time 24/7 as long as the student meets required due dates. Students enrolling in an LRON course need access to a reliable computer with internet connection, microphone, and web camera. Live instruction is conducted via a video conferencing platform; students should expect to turn their camera on and access their computer’s microphone during class meeting times.
- HYBR – Online and Classroom – Hybrid classes meet for half of the scheduled class time on campus and the remainder of the time is delivered in an asynchronous manner using Blackboard and/or a publisher platform. Asynchronous learning means that course work can be completed at any time 24/7 as long as the student meets required due dates. Students in an HYBR course need access to a reliable computer with internet connection. All social distancing guidelines, including mask wearing, will be followed for any class time that is held on campus. Students registering for a HYBR course will need to be prepared to transition to a fully online format if the need arises at any point in time.
Classes that are being held on campus will operate as follows:
- TRAD – Classroom – Traditional classes that meet on campus scheduled days and times. Some coursework may be delivered using Blackboard and/or a publisher platform. Students enrolling in a TRAD course need access to a reliable computer with internet connection. All social distancing guidelines, including mask wearing, will be followed for any class time that is held on campus. Students registering for a TRAD course will need to be prepared to transition to a fully online format if the need arises at any point in time.

Some students may want to update their schedules due to changes in instructional methods. You can add and drop courses online using my.commnet.edu. Please reference the Guide to myCommNet for instructions on how to add/drop courses: https://asnuntuck.edu/current-students/guide-to-mycommnet/. To add and drop courses online:
- Log into myCommNet(https://ssb-prod.ec.commnet.edu/luminis/login.html)
- Select “Banner Student & Faculty Self Service”
- Select “Registration/ Schedule”
- Select “Add-Drop Classes”
- To drop a class, select “Web Drop Course” in the Action box
- To add classes, enter the CRN (Course Registration Number)
- Click “Submit Changes”
