ACC’s Diversity Committee is partnering with The Enfield Public Library on a variety of activities and discussions centered around the acclaimed book "12 Years a Slave".

The Diversity Committee has book discussions scheduled for Sept. 23rd at 6 p.m. and Oct. 20th at 6 p.m.

ACC will host speaker Beverly Morgan-Welch at the college on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd, 10:30 a.m. until noon, followed by a reception on campus. Ms. Morgan-Welch is the Chief Executive for the Museum of African American History-Boston & Nantucket.

ACC has copies of the book available in its library, as does the Enfield Public Library. It is also available online for free as a download at www.gutenberg.org. ACC Instructor Marilynn Turner, a member of the Diversity Committee, is coordinating the events scheduled at the college.

The Enfield Library will be holding their discussions on Wednesday, Oct.1st at 7 p.m. and Wed., Oct. 8th at 2:30 pm.  The Wednesday afternoon discussion is the library's regularly scheduled book chat: the evening discussion is its own event.  The Enfield Public Library will also be showing the film on Fri., Oct. 10th at 2 p.m.
