FAQs: Degree Works For Students
DegreeWorks is a program allows students to track their progress toward graduation and plan course work for future semesters.
Log in to myCommNet as you would to access grades, pay your bill, get to Blackboard or reach your email. From there, look for the Degree Works logo click on the link for Asnuntuck Community College. If you have course records at more than one Connecticut Community College you will see more than one link. Only the college(s) where you are enrolled in a degree will have an audit prepared in Degree Works.
Your audit is a tool for understanding your progress toward your degree. While it includes your coursework, grades and GPA it is not considered your official Asnuntuck Community College academic record. The audit is most effective when you and your advisor use it together to plan your path toward your certificate or degree.
Yes. Once grades have been processed at the end of the semester, they are viewable in Degree Works. Courses in-progress are listed with a grade of “IP” and the credits in parentheses. In-progress courses will appear twice; once within the body of your audit and all together at the bottom of the audit.
Yes. Click on the “Course History” link in the center of the top of the screen for a printable list of courses taken. This list will appear in a pop-up window.
- All courses completed or attempted at ACC
- All courses officially transferred to ACC
- All courses in which you are currently enrolled or enrolled in for a future semester
- Your current GPA
- Courses remaining to complete your degree
- Notes made by your advisor
Your degree audit will indicate the courses you need to take with an empty check box on the left and detail about what is “Still Needed” in the center column.
For a list of only the courses remaining to complete your degree, choose the “Registration Checklist” from the Format dropdown at the top left of the page.
Yes. By clicking on a course number in the Degree Audit or the Courses Remaining report you can view pre-requisites required, attributes assigned to the course, as well as course sections available during the upcoming semester.

Courses from which you have withdrawn will appear in the Insufficient block on your degree audit.
The “What If” function shows what a degree audit would look like with a different program. Your new “What If” degree audit will show you what coursework is required for this major, what courses you have taken that satisfy requirements, and what courses are still left for you to take.
No. The “What If” function shows what a degree audit would look like with a different program. Official Changes of Major must be initiated at the Registrar’s Office (Room 106) with a Change of Major form. It is recommended that you speak with your advisor before changing your major.
Yes, but only if you process the “What If” while working with your faculty advisor in Degree Works or if you click the “Process as PDF” button and then save the PDF to your desktop. The PDF can then be emailed or printed.
No. “What If” plans are not saved under student log-ins in. You can to run a new “What If” scenario next time you log or save a “What If” as a PDF by choosing the “Process as PDF” button and then saving to your desktop.
You can print your degree audit by clicking on the “Print/Save as PDF” button at the top of the screen.

The Graduation Calculator enables you to determine the GPA they will need to earn on AVERAGE for the rest of the courses needed to take in order to graduate with a specific desired GPA
The Term Calculator enables you to estimate the Term GPA based on the projected grades for the classes that they are currently taking.
