September’s episode of Asnuntuck Community College’s (ACC) Changing Lives program is hosted by ACC Dean of Academic Affairs Michael Stefanowicz. The episode focuses on Asnuntuck’s Registered Medical Assisting (RMA) Program. Guests include Asnuntuck student Lisa Gonzalez and ACC’s Allied Health Coordinator Michele Howard-Swan. The program focused on the topic of ACC’s RMA program. The content included RMA history, the medical assisting career, transition from non- credit to credit courses and programs, and the program format for both the RMA certificate and Associate’s degree. The trio discussed the job outlook for careers in this field, and also information regarding the American Medical Technologist certification exam. Gonzalez has completed her registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certificate at ACC and has moved on to ACC’s RMA Associate’s degree. She is currently interviewing for medical assistant positions in the area. .
