As Asnuntuck Community College students continue their transition to online learning, in response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the Asnuntuck Community College Foundation is ensuring that students have the tools they need to be successful. The Foundation is providing resources for students, including more than $9,000 in technology and laptops, to use during this unprecedented time. The college, along with all colleges in the Connecticut State Colleges & Universities system, transitioned to an online learning format on March 23, 2020, and will remain in that format for the remainder of the Spring semester.

“As the campus navigates the college community’s new needs and new normal, The ACC Foundation will be here to support those new initiatives,” explains Executive Director of the Foundation Keith Madore.

The Foundation has created a COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund to help address the immediate needs of students. This fund will help provide support to the local college’s students during these trying times. Those wishing to donate to this fund can visit

Additional funds from the Foundation are also being set aside for mini-grants available to faculty and staff from Asnuntuck. These grants will allow faculty and staff to apply for ancillary items needed to provide students with a comprehensive delivery of online services and education.

An extension has also been announced for high school and college students wishing to apply for the Foundation’s many scholarships. Students can visit to apply. The new deadline is April 13th. The college annually awards scholarships topping $45,000.

“We are very thankful for the support from our ACC Foundation. They understand that our students are encountering a challenging time, financially and educationally. We want our students to continue their successful education endeavors and feel supported,” says Asnuntuck’s Interim Chief Executive Officer Michelle Coach.

While the campus is closed temporarily, departments can be reached through email. Registration for the Fall and Summer semesters will open on April 6, 2020. Visit for information on how to register and how to contact departments at the college.
