Asnuntuck Community College’s Foundation has received sponsorship support from area individuals and businesses for its upcoming fundraiser. The Foundation, for the second year, will be hosting Upscale Dueling Pianos. The fundraising extravaganza will be held on Friday, April 1st at La Notte in East Windsor.

 

Asnuntuck is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and the evening will salute this golden milestone.

 

PeoplesBank and Vista Produce have committed to being Grand Piano Sponsors, with Trinity Health-Johnson Memorial serving as this year’s Chairman Sponsor. Major Sponsor is Keating Real Estate and Family and Friends of Sean St. James will be this year’s Sharp Sponsor. Peoples United Bank, M/F Holding Co., and Allied Community Service are each a Table Sponsor.  Pickle Jar Deli is the Cocktail Hour Sponsor. Berkshire Bank and 360 Credit Union are the Dessert Sponsors.

 

“The Asnuntuck Foundation is appreciative that so many of our community partners will be taking part in this campus fundraiser for Asnuntuck students,” said Executive Director of Asnuntuck’s Foundation Keith Madore. He continued, “Their support is valuable and provides positive student outcomes, academic program support, and their commitment to higher education and workforce development in our community.”

 

Dueling Pianos-Music and Song for Scholarships will feature New York City Upscale Dueling Pianos performers Steve Laureti and David Ross. The performing duo will entertain the audience in an interactive evening, featuring a variety of tunes, including the music of Billy Joel, Journey, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, and more. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to battle to tip for scholarships to hear their favorite song.

 

Asnuntuck’s CEO Dr. Michelle Coach is appreciative of the community’s support of the college. “We are thrilled to have our second annual Dueling Pianos event.  We are extremely thankful for all of the support we are receiving from our event sponsors, especially People’s Bank, Vista Produce, Trinity Health-Johnson Memorial, Keating Real Estate, Family and Friends of Sean St. James, People’s United Bank, M/F Holding Co., Allied Community Service, Pickle Jar Deli, and 360 Credit Union.” She continued, “These dollars make an immense difference in our students’ lives and futures.  They receive the assistance they need on their path forward to a new or advancing career.”

 

Robyn Lee Miller from MorningBird Media and Jeffrey Lomma from Northwestern Mutual are both serving as the event’s co-chairs for the second year. Other members of the event planning committee are Vicki Clark, Connecticut Commercial Realty; Linda Cote, Webster Bank; Glenn Ford, Phoenix Manufacturing; Connie Provencher, Educational Resources for Children; Tim St. James and Keith Madore, Asnuntuck Community College and Margaret Van Cott, CSCU.  Funds raised from the event will be used to help support student scholarships and programs at the college. The evening is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will also include an hors d’oeuvres reception and a silent auction.

 

Connecticut State Community College North-West Regional President Dr. James Lombella is looking forward to the event. “It is exciting to be able to gather again this year to raise funds for such a worthy cause. We are very grateful for the immense support we continue to receive from our community.” The President noted, “Despite challenging times these sponsors understand the value of investing in our students and how this investment will make our community stronger.”
