October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Asnuntuck will be doing various events on campus to support Julie’s Safe House. On Wednesday, October 10th students, staff and faculty have been asked to wear purple in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. ACC’s Massage Therapy students will be offering 10-minute chair massages for $5 on the 10th, from 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. in the college’s Tower Lobby. Proceeds from the massages will be donated to The Network.
The College will also be collecting items for Julie’s Safe House. New products and new clothing items needed included hair products for women of color, hair brushes, juice boxes, children’s individually packed snacks, children’s Halloween costumes, dish detergent, underwear for children, sweatshirts and sweatpants (all sizes), baby lotion, yoga mats and individualized packed snacks for children. The donation box will be outside of Dean St. James’ office until October 25th.
