ACC’s Continuing Education and Workforce Development office is offering multiple opportunities for the public to enroll in Combination Safe Boating/Personal Watercraft Classes. Students can be as young as 10 years old to enroll. Students must attend three, three hour classes to qualify for a certificate of completion. Two additional options allow participants to receive the same certification after attending one 7 hour and 45 minute class. The first, three- class session will be offered on April 14, 16 and 21st from 6-9 p.m. The second, three-class session will be offered on May 19, 21 and 26th from 6-9 p.m. These evening sessions are only $25 for all three nights. They are taught by volunteers or employees of the Connecticut DEP Boating Division.

Professional Marine Education will teach the one day sessions on April 25th and May 23rd. The course will be taught from 8 a.m.-3:45 p.m. The fee is $89.00.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student can mail or deliver the diploma to any State DEP office, and combined with an application for certificate (provided) and appropriate fee, qualifies the student to obtain the Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation. The $50 certificate is a one-time, lifetime certification.
