Asnuntuck Community College offers a certificate in Gerontology. As the population continues to live longer, a background in gerontology is very important for people in all careers. Understanding the needs of an aging population is important and is valued by many employers. Students can earn a certificate in this field after completing just nine courses. Full-time students can complete the program in one year’s time. Courses run fall, winter, spring and summer. Students can decide whether they want to go at a full or part-time pace.

Classes for the fall begin at Asnuntuck on August 29th. Interested in exploring this field? Register for the six week Introduction to Gerontology course being offered on Wednesdays, from 5-7:55 p.m. The course begins September 7th and runs until October 22nd. It blends on-line work with 6 classes on-site at the college. Have questions, need more information? Contact Interim Human Services Coordinator Carol LaLiberte at or call (860) 253-3187.
