Ryan Woods, Founder of ignite. excite. empower. (I.E.E.); and the Cycle Initiative, is an Asnuntuck Community College Alum who is planning a major event at ACC this month. He is holding a Women's Vascular Health Seminar at the college on Saturday, March 19th from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Woods, who is also co-owner of EnFuse Fitness, a personal training facility in Enfield, is inviting the public, as well as ACC students, staff and faculty to register for the event.
Keynote speakers include, Cardiologist/Lipidologist Dr. Brett Nowlan; Dr. Ashley Burkman, who will speak on Naturopathy, from Connecticut Natural Health Specialists; and Dr. Elaine Ducharme, a Clinical Psychologist from Glastonbury. The experts will share information regarding tests that all women should have performed and they will cover current research on diet, basic supplements and lifestyle modification.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States. Woods wants all women, young and old to understand that in many cases heart disease can be avoided with proper preventative care. His hope is that college age students and all women in the community, will attend this seminar to learn more about how they can stay heart healthy.
Registration is $99. Enter the coupon code "EDUCATE" to receive 25% off. Asnuntuck students can register for free (thanks to support from sponsors First National Bank, Bellucci Chiropractic, Artioli Dodge and United Insurance Group) by emailing Woods, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
