Asnuntuck Community College will be putting the spotlight on the arts this spring. A new student art gallery located adjacent to the President’s Corridor has been unveiled and ACC students’ work is being featured on a rotating basis in the ACC Corridor Gallery.  A Student Arts Showcase of One Act plays is on the calendar, guitar recitals, an art exhibit, a film marathon and a dance showcase will round out the next two months’ worth of activities.


Victoria Oliver’s Student Exhibition “Visions” will be on display in the ACC Corridor Gallery from March 31st to April 11th. Student Alex Samson’s art exhibit “You Set the Scene” will be the next to be featured from April 14th to April 25th. Jerry Fink’s exhibit “Industry” will be on display in the new art space from April 28th to Friday May 9th.


Students enrolled in a variety of Asnuntuck’s art classes will have their artwork on display during the college’s Student Arts Showcase: Spring 2014 Student Art Exhibition. An opening reception will be held on April 30th from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. The Exhibition will be on display from April 30th to June 6th. The Student Arts Showcase will continue on May 6th at 1 p.m. with A Series of One Act Plays. The Showcase will feature a Film Marathon: SciFi from Metropolis to War of the Worlds on May 7th from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.-5 p.m.


The Student Arts Showcase: Guitar II Recital will be held on May 8th at 9:30 a.m. in the auditorium. The Showcase continues with Guitar I Recital on May 8th at 11 a.m. The Showcase’s final event will be Dance 1 Showcase on May 9th at 10 a.m.


All events are free and open to the public.
