Asnuntuck Community College students Ryan Russin (far right) and Victoria Orifice (far left), both from Enfield, were recognized for their academic achievements and leadership accomplishments on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the State Capitol during the annual All-Connecticut Academic Team awards ceremony. Both Russin and Orifice are members of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK). PTK is the international honor society of two-year colleges.

The All-Connecticut Academic Team recognizes the outstanding scholarly achievements and leadership accomplishments of students enrolled in Connecticut’s community and junior colleges.

Asnuntuck’s Interim Dean of Academic Affairs Michelle Coach addressed the recipients. Coach is also the New England Regional Coordinator, Phi Theta Kappa.

The Alpha Lambda Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa for Asnuntuck Community College will hold its annual induction ceremony on April 13, 2018.

Representatives from Asnuntuck’s chapter will travel to Kansas City, MO next week to participate in PTK Catalyst, Phi Theta Kappa’s Annual Convention. Orifice is a 2018 Coca-Cola Academic Team Silver Scholar. She will receive a $1,250 scholarship. Phi Theta Kappa will recognize the 2018 Coca-Cola Academic Team Scholars on stage at the Phi Theta Kappa’s Annual Convention.
