According to the latest fitness industry salary guide, Personal Trainers are earning an average of $34 an hour. Asnuntuck’s new Personal Trainer National Certification class begins Tuesday, June 7th and runs Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 14th. Whether for a career move or for your own personal knowledge, get all the information you need to become a Certified Personal Trainer. This challenging course is taught over a six-week period for better retention and hands-on skill competency. The national exam is held during the last class. This course is formatted as a 62-hour program and consists of 16 hours of lecture, 16 hours of hands-on practical training at a local fitness facility and a 30-hour internship that can lead graduates right into a job!

The course prepares you for success with key topics that include bio-mechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage, and health assessment.

Completion of the course lecture, practical training, internship and a separate CPR/AED course are required to receive a certificate. The cost is $869 and textbook is included.

On a more relaxing note, the next session of Kripalu “All Levels” Yoga kicks off in June. Kripalu Yoga will strengthen your muscles, improve your flexibility… even help you sleep better!

For those looking to break into the in-demand field of beauty and salon services, Basic and Advanced levels of Asnuntuck’s Esthetician program will also begin in June. A recent report in Indeed.com states that Advanced Estheticians earn an average of $59,000 annually in Connecticut, $61,000 in Massachusetts.

On June 6, learn the fine art of ground dynamics and group process with “Leading Groups to Success.” This class is also a perfect complement to the June 9 offering “Building Your Project Team – How To Get and Inspire Team Project Members” and “Project Management” on June 7.
