Students, start here and complete a few steps to help us maintain a safe and healthy campus and help you be successful in your courses. Your courses may include an online component – content or activities like assignments, discussions, or quizzes that you will access using our course management system, Blackboard, and you can find help here.

New Students – Setup Your Login (NetID)

myCommNet is the web portal that makes it easier for you to: register for classes, check your academic progress, access email, complete coursework in Blackboard, and manage your college finances. The address is an easy one to remember: my.commnet.edu. To get into myCommNet, you first need to set up your NetID (login credentials).

Returning Students – Need Help With NetID

  • Look up your NetID and write it down if you can’t remember what it is.
  • Visit the Online HelpDesk for a password reset. Call phone number or chat to reset. You will need your NetID and last 4 digits of your social security number.
  • Update your Security Information on the following link: https://mysignins.microsoft.com to allow self-reset of password.
  • Confirm and/or update your contact in myCommNet (my.commnet.edu). Download instructions.
  • View the Interactive Tutorials below to try common Blackboard tools.
  • Verify your course list in Blackboard ONE WEEK before your class is scheduled to start (late start and second half courses also follow this format).
  • Visit the Essential Skills for Attending Courses Remotely/Online course in Blackboard for more resources.

Returning Student – No Help Needed

If you can sign-in to myCommnet, please complete the following:

  • Update your Security Information on the following link: https://mysignins.microsoft.com to allow self-reset of password.
  • Confirm and/or update your contact in myCommNet (my.commnet.edu). Download instructions.
  • View the Interactive Tutorials below to try common Blackboard tools.
  • Verify your course list in Blackboard ONE WEEK before your class is scheduled to start (late start and second half courses also follow this format).
